Interesting problem with date

Hai all,

This i tried in 20 systems. We have some software installed on each system but nothing to do with /bin/date.
But when I type

/bin/date +%x

I get 25/06/2004 in some Pc`s and
25/06/04 in some.

I have written some scripts which work mainly based on date and this problem
creates error when i execute the script in specific systems.

What may be the problem ?
Or any general ideas for getting the format 25/06/2004 in all systems!

OS- Redhat 7.2 [kernel 2.4.7-10]
Any suggestions?

I would construct your script to use a combination of several date commands.... for example... %m %d %Y which will give you the month, day and 4 digit year. No telling why that command changed. Stuff happens.

Thanks friend

date +%d/%m/%Y works in all systems.

And I have changed my script to suit this

Cheers
