inted/vsftpd configuration

I know this is a simple task but for some reason i am having problems setting up vsftpd to run under inetd. If I run vsftpd in standalone mode i can connect fine, but when I comment out that line fo the configuration file I can no longer cannect. How do i configure these two programs correctly?

Thanks for your help.

Did you uncomment the vsftp line in your /etc/inetd.conf file? Since Slackware has both ProFTP and vsftp, you have to choose one. If you do uncomment the vsftpd line, don't forget to restart inetd.
