Installling SUSE, Mandrake, ???

I am currently running Windows XP Pro and Red Hat 9.0 on my PC. I attempted to load SUSE 8.2, Mandrake 9.1, and Lycoris but they all fail at the exact same installation position. I boot off of the CD, select install, the kernel loads, and the screen goes blank and just sits. One interesting note about Mandrake is that when the screen goes blank, the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock key lights start blinking. Red Hat and Lindows load just fine. My hardware conisists of a MSI motherboard, AMD Athlon 2400+ cpu, 1GB PC133 mem, Maxtor (40GB) and IBM (8GB) hdd. Could anyone help me in resolving this issue? Thanks.

The blinking is what happens when you get a kernel panic. Are you using the text mode installers?
