Installing YUM Problems

Hey guys, i installed RH4 on a system and it seems i missed YUM on the installation or it doesnt come with it(rare). Anyways i went to it's site and did a wget, i then did a make install and it did all this on the screen.

then i type yum and this is what comes out

There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

No module named rpmUtils

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.3.4 (#1, Feb 6 2006, 10:38:46)
[GCC 3.4.5 20051201 (Red Hat 3.4.5-2)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:

I do have python installed.

I also tried installing it from the RPM and it didnt work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

RHEL4 does not come with yum, so which version of yum did you install?? From where??

Please visit, Dag Wieers site and download/install yum for RHEL4 and install the rpmforge-release package;

If you really mean FC4 instead of RH4 then visit;

A quick way to check, from the console or xterm session type; cat /etc/*release
