Installing XMMS
 

Hello all,

i want to install XMMS audio player in my mandriva 2008.0.
but, it failed to install all time.
i download *.rpm file of XMMS, but, it not install.
how can i install it?

do i need any additional libraries?

from where i can download them full?

plz. give details.

Why do not use the urpmi package manager for mandriva to install it.
I do not use mandriva myself so have got not much idea about urpmi but guess that like other package managers it will also solve your problems if they are about dependencies.
Also, post the errors that you faced while installing from the rpm.

Does it have to be XMMX?
AFAIK there is no halfway recent version - a good replacement could be audacious. It looks quite similar and is actively developed.
