Installing Xfce 4

Distro: Redhat Linux 9 kernel 2.4.20-8
Package: xfce-4.0.5-rpm-rh9.tar.bz2 (Xfce 4)
Software Description: A desktop environment for Linux operationg systems
Problem: Could not install
Hint: Tried to be installed in the shell console via the rpm -ivh *.rpm command in root but an error occured regarding package dependencies:

error: Failed dependencies:
gcc is needed by dbh-1.0.18-1

Main Question: how is this fixed? If you know other problems related in xfce 4 through this method like package dependencies errors, please also tell it to me. thanks

Have a look in your RedHat CDs for an rpm package gcc-x.xx-xx.i386.rpm

Install that first, then you should be able to install xfce
