Installing X includes, error saying >= 4.3.19

This is for Mandrake 10 Community

I am trying to compile the latest kopete program, and during the compile it says it cannot find the X includes. I checked my /usr/X11R6/include folder and sure enough, there isn't anything but a few files in there. I am assuming that means they are not in there.

I go to install the xfree86-devel-4.3.29mdk package from my install CD and then this huge window comes up saying that there were errors during the install.

At the top of the screen it says:

XFree86-libs = 4.3-29mdk is needed by libxfree86-devel-4.3-29mdk
Xfree86-libs >= 4.3-13mdk is needed by (installed) totem-0.99.9=5mdk
... and then it continues down the line for a vast majority of my installed programs.

From what I read, isn't it saying I need to have greater than or equal to 4.3-13mdk libs installed? Aren't I installing v29?

Am i reading this wrong, or is linux being weird on me? I also tried in root and it didn't work.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks.
