Installing WordPerfect 8.0
Has anyone successfully installed this? I have tried with three different versions of LInux (RH8, RH7.2, & Mandy 8.2) and the install goes off in the weeds. It will first bomb the graphics install, then the text install will parse out the various files and then not be able to find them. Specifically, I've:
1. Always done it as root.
2. Followed both the instructions that accompanied the disk and the ones on Corel's website.
3. When it said copy the compressed files to any directory, I've tried a directory in /usr, / and just putting them in the root directory.
4. Modified the installation script to bypass some of the unncessary checks, such as did I uncompress the files and what kind of install do I want to do.
My instincts tell me the installation script is poorly written and that is my problems, but I've never figured out what is wrong with it.
The CD is from LinuxCentral and was with the Mandy 8 version I bought from them.
Any ideas?
