installing wine on linux


I have a asus eee pc i think it has xandor linux on it and im trying to install wine so i can install shockwave player on it.Can anyone tell me what wine i need as there are so many and how to install it.

shockwave

HAS anyone installed crossover i have a asus ee pc and am thinking of getting crossover so i can install shockwave but i dont want to pay for it if it doesent work. and would i need to install anything else or just crossover.

It should just work according to that. The Wine AppDB is a good place to start when checking if a given application will work on wine.

I am reluctant to use such products, because they offer very little (if anything at all) over plain wine (except for the fancy interface, of course).

However, crossover offers trial products so you can test before buying:
