Installing wine


I was installing wine,I extracted the .tar.bz2 file.Then applied the command ./configure,
then it is saying that check for the flex file.What is flex file?

Flex is a development tool that you should be able to install from your distro's repository.

Is there some reason why you are compiling your own Wine? If you'd got it from Ubuntu, that would have got Flex for you.
