Installing Window Maker and XFce

Hi,
I've tried installing the Window Maker window manager and XFce and having a few problems!
1.Window Maker - After following all the installation instructions i type 'startx'. It tries to load up X but then goes back to a prompt with an error...
'wmanker: error while loading libraries: libwraster.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory'.
I did a search for libwraster.so.2 and a few of them were found! How comes its saying it doesn't exist?

2. XFce - Installed all the RPM's, reboot, try to login in XFce and I get an error saying that my Window manager doesn't support all the things in XFce (or something like that). Only the Dock at the bottom of the screen shows up, when I open another window they can not be moved around the screen or closed. Opening a terminal it is stuck in the top left of the screen and i have to type 'exit' to get rid of it.
Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? Sorry this post is a bit long!!
ps. I'm new to all this!
thanks
Rob

Have you installed WindowMaker (which version?) with rpm or from source?
And which distribution do you have?

I installed Window Maker from source

WindowMaker-0.80.2.tar.bz2

# ./configure --enable-kde
# make
#make install

#ldconfig
#wmaker.inst

all this seemed to work ok......startx and then i get the error.

Thanks
Rob
