No such file or directory for "configure"?

in the source directory try:
Code:
make distclean
./configure
make
Then if it fails maybe you need
Code:
sudo apt-get install libc6-dev

I had it installed already. for distclean, it says: 'make: *** No rule to target 'distclean'. Stop.'
