Installing vmware player or workstation from a txt code

Hello! I have downloaded from www.vmware.com a free product called VMware player for Linux..
With my surprise, the product was downloaded as a txt file!
I don't know how to handle it!

The same happened for a trial version of a similar product, VMware Workstation!

I imagin that the product should be fed to a compiler or so...
But incidentally it is so big that a normal text editor is not able to handle it!

Thank you for your cooperation!

It is not a text file, it is a script that has the needed binaries included. Actually, all you have to do is to make it executable and execute it. How to exactly do that is described in the Getting Started with VMware Player document.

I get the feeling the file should have been some compressed file containing many files within. The correct file is maybe 100M or so.
