Installing Themes RH9.0
 

Where do I put the themes so that I can use them on RH 9.0. I tried ~.themes and /usr/share/themes

This didn't work, unless I was doing something wrong when I tried to invoke them through Start->Preferences->Theme

I could not install the theme. I messed around and a couple of the defualt themes are okay, but I wanted to test a few from the internet.

put the theme where ever you want. Then go to hat -> prefs -> theme

click "install theme" on the right hand side of that main screen, choose your file, and badabing badaboom, there ya go.

btw, the file must be tarred and zipped (.tar.gz, .tgz)

It didn't work though, I choose to install it but nothing happened. The theme extension is tar.gz. It is a compressed file. That's how I though it was done. Maybe some themes don't work.

Maybe you have to be root or something.

i would always try it as root, but thats still puzzling...
