Installing tar.gz of Adobe flash player on Laughlin
Hi!
When I untar the install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz it has usr folder and shared library libflashplayer.so so only I have to do is just to copy the usr folder on /usr and add libflashplayer.so on which location? on /lib? Thanks for ur cooperation Cheers, Steffen |
Tres bien
Yah!
I tried installing by rpm but it didn't work, and then uncompressed the tar.gz and copied the lib file on /lib and on /usr/lib and then the /usr folder on /usr and on /usr/local/share and then my flash worked for youtube and facebook games. Didn't know that only searching application directory works so I copied the files through all possible locations and to me it worked on /usr/local/share My advice is that the tar.gz is the best way to install linux applications as far as the linux is concerned Cheers Steffen |
on fedora
do not use the tarbal reinstall flash using yum to manually install the tarball is a" PAIN IN THE .... " you need to edit "alternitaves" you need to manually remove links you need to manually add new links you need to manually copy/paste --- and do that FOR EVERY UPDATE --- Code:
su - http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...f15.html#flash but installing the 64 bit flash on a 64 bit FF on a 64 bit fedora IS DIFFERENT you will need to remove the npwrapper.so links and redirects |
