Installing SuSe Linux 10.1 on 1 partition

I have MS Windows XP installed and partition magic and bootmagic. I created a 30GB ext2 partition and a 1GB swap partition. When I switched that partition to make the root in the partition it said that everything was going to be deleted and that grub was be the OS loader. Is there a way I can install SuSe Linux 10.1 on 1 30gb partition keep XP and bootmagic????
