Installing SARG or APT in Redhat EL 3?

Hi,

I'm trying to install SARG (Squid Analysis Report Generator) on my Redhat EL 3 box (an Endian firewall) but when I execute: "rpm -Uvh sarg-2.2.3.1-1.el3.rf.i386.rpm" I get the following message:
error: Failed dependencies:
libgd.so.1.8 is needed by sarg-2.2.3.1-1.el3.rf.i386

So, I went and tried to install "gd-1.8.3-4.i386.rpm" which says it contains what I need. But that package tells me it has dependencies.

I tried to install APT, but that's sending me through the same dependency hell as SARG.

Am I going about this all the wrong way?
