installing RPM for canon pixma ip4850 in PCLINUXOS

My distribution of choice is pclinuxos, the repos do not have a driver for my pixma ip4800.
I have downloaded the two drivers for this printer from the canon site but so far have been unable to install them or find a specific thread that can help.
Unfortunately I am not too confident in using the CLI so if anyone could take me through the procedure I would be grateful.

Thanks

There are four rpms ( 2 x i386 and 2 x x86_64 ) in :
cnijfilter-ip4800series-3.40-1-rpm.tar.gz/cnijfilter-ip4800series-3.40-1-rpm/packages

1) Open a terminal window, and do 'cd cnijfilter-ip4800series-3.40-1-rpm/'
2) su : Enter password.

3) sh install.sh ; But the "apt for rpm" seems unknown for the script.
3a) cd packages/
rpm -Uvh cnijfilter-common-3.40-1.i386.rpm cnijfilter-ip4800series-3.40-1.i386.rpm

..
