installing redhat linux in widowsxp system


hi friends,

I want to install red hat linux in my system, which is having
windows xp already. if we maintain both operating systems,
will i get problem for windows??
I heard that if linux o.s fails, windows o.s will not work.
is it true?? what care should i take to maintain both.

no, thats not true.

each of them are on the different partition, the only thing is they shared same bootloader.

if u only want to test a linux, u can use virtualization such as vmware / virtualbox installed in your XP mcahines,

then you can installed linux on the vmware / virtualbox.
