I have installed Linux on to the same PowerEdge 1650 as the OS and that works perfectly, so I know the AACRAID driver works with the Dell Perc 3D/i controller. The Linux install just does not recognize the VMware Server virtual drivers that it is using for the Dell Perc 3D/i RAID controller.
Does anyone out there have the solution to this issue?

I'm a little unclear as to what the actual problem is. Are you creating a virtual SCSI hard drive? When I've had issues with VMWare Server not recognizing scsi hard drives, it's been because I had the wrong type selected, ie, buslogic vs lsilogic. Which ever scsi hard drive type you select, make sure RH4 loads the corresponding kernel module by default. By default, if you select RH it should be set correctly automatically. If not try the other type.
I forget what the default scsi driver for RH is.
