Installing Red Hat 9 in xseries 346

Hi,

I'm having some troubles installing Red Hat 9 in xseries 346, it has RAID 0 or 1, and when I try to install it says that I don't hava a hard drive, Can anyone help me?

I looked for the operating systems supported in this server and it says that RHEL should be used, but I was wondering if there's a way I can install Red Hat Professional....

Thank you so much!!!,
Miriam Alonso

You will have to download and install the RAID drivers by hand. This RAID controller is most likely not supported under RedHat 9. Is there a particular reason not to go to Fedora Core? RH9 is pretty much dead for patches (still a good server OS). IBM should have them available on there website, but you would have to probable compile them under RH9 on another box first.

Sounds like more work than it needs to be,
Pete

Fedora is the renamed "free" Linux distro that used to be RedHat. The RedHat EL stuff is the commercial version. Therefore running Fedora Core is the way to go as the prior poster indicated. RH 9 is really old.
