Installing Radeon 9700 pro drivers Slackware 10.2

I have downloaded the latest drivers from ati and I have installed them. I don't have hardware acceleration still. I'm also having a permmison problem, only root can use the ati featuers. I don't know what to change to set users permisons to run games, if they cant use glxgears, they can't run any 3d games. Anyways I ran aticonfig --initial
Heres what I have tried.

/usr/X11R6/bin# ./glxgears
26712 frames in 5.0 seconds = 5342.400 FPS

I tried to run fgl_glxgears
FGLTexMgr: open of shared memory object failed (Function not implemented)
__FGLTexMgrCreateObject: __FGLTexMgrSHMmalloc failed!!!
fglX11AllocateManagedSurface: __FGLTexMgrCreateObject failed!!

4 frames in 6.0 seconds = 0.667 FP

When I run quake4 demo it is only getting 1fps also. I don't know really where to find the problem. Here are the modules I have installed. Including fglrx.

I found the solution if anyone wants to know

You forgot to have shared memory mounted.

- Make sure its compiled into your kernel (its listed as 'former shm')

- Add the following line to your /etc/fstab
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

- Then go ahead and issue a 'mount tmpfs' at the prompt to get it going, or just reboot.
