Installing Qt/Embedded

Hi,
I have some problems with installing Qt/Embedded.
I have followed the installation procedure porvided by Tolltech.
However, there is an instruction to enable the Linux frame buffer at /dev/fb0
How can I do that?
Please advice.

I'm running Red Hat Linux 8.

QT/Embedded is for hand held/pdas only, for redhat on a pc you need qt-x11-free.

Yes,
but I have also read that I can develop applications with Qt/Embedded on a desktop first and then port it over to a handheld.

Need advice to enable Linux frame buffer.

Well, the frame buffer is a kernel option.

Most distro's have it enabled by default, but we don't know what distro you use because you havn't filled out all your details.

Redhat should have the frame buffer already. Do you have kde installed? If you do then QT will be installed already.

Yes, I have selected "install everything" option when I was installing Red Hat Linux 8.

I have also install the Qt package according to the installation instruction. However, when I try ./start_demo I do not get any response.
The installation instruction do mention that I need to enable the frame buffer.
How do I check that?

Ok, I have selected the depth to be 32 when I was installing Qt/Embedded.

I'm using a ATI Radeon 7500 graphics card with a NEC MultiSync LCD monitor.

When I try to start Qt, nothing happens....

Hi,
Ok, I have changed to the KDE desktop settings. When I click on "start_demo" under examples/launcher, I get a "Couldn;t find program" prompt.
What should I do?

Open a console, change to the demo directory and do "./demo"
