Installing PARTED problem
 

I am trying to install parted. When i run the configure file i recieve this error

configure: error: GNU Parted requires libuuid - a part of the e2fsprogs package.This can probably be found on your distribution's CD or FTP site or at:
http://web.mit.edu/tytso/www/linux/e2fsprogs.html
Note: if you are using precompiled packages you will also need the development
package as well (which may be called e2fsprogs-devel or something similar).

I went to that website and downloaded the e2fsprogs package i think i got the wrong one. I downloaded this file e2fsprogs-1.34.tar.gz.

I installed that with no problems. Then i tried to run the parted confiure file i get the same error message. Any one know what i am doing wrong?
