Installing Oracle XE on Linux

The story of Linux is you have to work on it rather than work with it, I was trying to install oracle XE on Debian, checked few items on the Net and they are bit zany , each poster has its own them and variation, what I cannot understand is to Modify or how and why to modify ~/.bashrc , and do linkings etc
This one example, there few others but are more confusing.
Is there any simple to install it? Or to be to point , is there any disaster free procedure?

Oracle have a Debian repository buried somewhere. If you can find it and it have your version, then use it.

To add the path, edit ~/.bashrc of the users you want Oracle to be easily accessible (it will work for the others with a complete path)

add this line at the end
