Installing Oracle 9i in Slackware 10.1

I get this error message everytime I run "runInstaller."

"oracle@kp2:~$ Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2005-03-04_03-47-00PM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Unable to load native library: /tmp/OraInstall2005-03-04_03-47-00PM/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so: symbol __libc_wait, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference"
What do I have to do to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.

To resolve this, download the patch p3006854_9204_LINUX.zip from http://metalink.oracle.com/. See bug 3006854 for more information.

To apply the patch, run
su - root
# unzip p3006854_9204_LINUX.zip
# cd 3006854
# sh rhel3_pre_install.sh
Applying patch...
Patch successfully applied

After this your Oracle Universal Installer will run smoothly.

hi
can one of you guys briefly write up how you installed oracle 9i / 10g on Slackware?
Of particular interest would be the workarounds to have it installed on slackware.

I am refering to the Oracle server, of course...
