Installing on Windows through Knoppix

I'm working on a friends computer and I'm trying to reinstall their OS. First I have to burn the files that they still need. I don't have a thumb drive handy so I have to stick to the burner. I can't install their Roxio software and Nero won't install neither. So I decided to rely on my good'ol Knoppix CD. I have never had the opportunity to use Knoppix for something like this before. Can I then install nero or roxio as I would on Windows? Or would I have to install NeroLinux or k3b?

Thanks.

From memory K3b is included with Knoppix, so you should be able to just mount the filesystem (read only) and then burn it to disk. No installation needed.

Cheers,

mj
