NIC make and model number for those of us surrounded by the ESP-defeating powers of Kryptonite.

Question

Have you tried each NIC individually? This is probably the first thing to check, so as to make sure they both work and are not using conflicting addresses.
Some kernals may not detect more than one ethernet device, although a major up to date distribution should do.
Try adding append="ether=0,0,eth1" to lilo.conf.

If you still cannot get it to work you may need to update your kernel.

Hope this is of some help.

You can try to laod them manually from the console. 'modprobe ne2k-pci alias eth0' and play around with it to see where the problem is.
