I am trying to install MySQL 5.0.21 from source code. I downloaded mysql-5.0.21.tar.gz from MySQL. I copied the .tar file to /usr/local and unzipped it. Then changed to mysql-5.0.21 dir.
Done the ./config. Now when I "make", it comes back with following message...........

make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.

I checked the ./config messages, and the last line contains an error message..........

checking for termcap functions library... configure: error: No curses/termcap library found

Kinda of lost now. I am sure that the reason that it cannot find the "makefile" is because of the error.

Is there a way to fix the error message ......... Any help would be greatly appreciated .........

Install termcap-devel or ncurses-devel (libncurses-devel on some distros).
