Unhappy Installing Mandrake Linux 10.1

I currently use Win ME and have just received my 3 cd's of Mandrake Linux 10.1.. I want to know how to install this software. When I put it in my CD it won't boot. Do I have to wipe out my Win ME first then start all over again? What am I doing wrong? I was under the impression that these disks were bootable....Please help...

Thank you

They are. (Well if it says)

You have to go into BIOS and change the boot sequence from "User Hard Drive" (or similar) to "CD-ROM".

Question

What kind of equipment are you using? Also, are these downloaded or were they purchased? You can also try to boot with disk 2.

Loading CD's

I bought the CD's.... I'm using an HP 8180... upgraded ram 128. I've tried to boot with disk two and that doesn't work either. I go into the Bios and change the boot sequence then put in the disk... after that... it just sits there and does nothing. ooops, my mistake... a blue screen comes up with Label 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 but the first two you can't click on ... the rest take me to information found on the Mandrake Web site.

Lightbulb

Just looked up specs on your machine. It should be ok. Can you try the boot disk in another computer? You may have a bad set of disks. All you have to do is boot with the disk. You can cancel before you actually make any changes.
