installing Linux from a USB HDD help!

Okay, so I want to install Linux from my MP3 player. Its a 20gb USB MP3 Player but it also works as an external HDD, I use it just like a normal HDD, i have programs and stuff installed on it. But i want to install Linux on to this PC using it. The problem is: this PC cant Boot from USB, is there any way that i can use some type of 3rd party program to help me boot from USB? like a program that i can put on a Floppy disk? i dont have a burner. thats the problem...

Another option that i have is installing Knoppix, i have a pretty recent version, i am happy with the way it runs on my PC, but i dont know how to install it onto my HDD, and have a DUAL boot pc. if you could help me with that i would also be happy!
