Installing Lilo bootloader from knoppix CD for LFS
G'day all,
I am in the process of doing a Linux from scratch build. I want to use knoppix as my host system for this process, however, when i need to install the Lilo bootloader, i am unable to change the configuaration file - because the CD is readonly - so that when the i run lilo, it will allow me to boot from my new LFS system.
I dont want to goto the hassle of installing knoppix and creating a new partition, mainly because I only have a small (12 GB ) harddisk and i like to keep everthing nice and neat.
Thanks for your help,
Nathan

Code:
mount -o remount -rw /dev/for/lilo
man mount for the correct (sequence of the) options ;)
Then you can write to the target partition.

thanks 320MB,
but i am just wondering why it is necessary to have a hosy system physically installed to a hard drive to build an LFS system. I have a Windows XP fille server running, which has all the source files for build.
