Installing Kernel Source in FC3

Hey
Ive been trying to get NDIS wrapper working in fc3 and im running into problems installing the kernel source, every time in try to install the rpm it gives me and error saying the file is a source RPM and cannot be installed with system config packages. I did this on another computer that had FC3 on it also so i kinda at a loss as to what to do about this any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Bas rpmbuild -bp --targend here: rpmbuild -bp --target=<arch> kernel.spec
lly, I'm trying to get ndiswrapper working using their instructions for fedora found here:
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/p...dex.php/Fedora (Fedora specific)
and here:
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/p...p?Installation (general)
But, I can't get ndiswrapper to compile.
According to the ndiswrapper installation info, you need to install the kernel source.
However, with FC3, there is no longer a kernel-source rpm package. I downloaded and installed the .src.rpm package for kernel 2.6.10-1.760. Then the problems begin. According to the fedora folks (http://wftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux...-NOTES-en.html), you have to do the following:In order to eliminate the redundancy inherent in providing a separate package for the kernel source code when that source code already exists in the kernel's .src.rpm file, Fedora Core 3 no longer includes the kernel-source package. Users that require access to the kernel sources can find them in the kernel .src.rpm file. To create an exploded source tree from this file, perform the following steps (note that <version> refers to the version specification for your currently-running kernel):

Change directory to /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/, and issue the following command:

rpmbuild -bp --target=<arch> kernel.spec

(Where <arch> is the desired target architecture.)

On a default RPM configuration, the kernel tree will be located in /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/.

It seems to go well for a bit, but then the process stops:
+ make ARCH=i386 nonint_oldconfig

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.35717 (%prep)
[root@tatooine SPECS]#

I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.
Also, the ndiswrapper site talks about symlinking to the kernel source from the modules directory. But the way they describe it doesn't seem to make sense, as the would-be symlink had files in it already.

I'm lost and frustrated - Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
