Installing Internet Explorer 8 through WineTricks

I'm trying to install Internet Explorer on my Linux Mint using Winetricks, but it doesn't seem to work.

After the downloading of IS8 completes, this is what I get:
Code:
100%[++++++++++++++++++++++++++++==========>] 16,883,056   112K/s   in 45s

2011-01-10 14:00:25 (95.0 KB/s) - `IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe' saved [16883056/16883056]

fixme:clusapi:GetNodeClusterState ((null),0x32ec1c,0) stub!
------------------------------------------------------
To start ie8, use the command wine 'C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore'... but it doesn't work yet. See http://code.google.com/p/winezeug/issues/detail?id=159 for an ugly workaround.
------------------------------------------------------
Install of ie8 done
winetricks done.
You have new mail in /var/mail/root
and even when I try to start ie8 it just gives a blank 'box' with no address bar or anything. All what's sritten is, "Wine Internet Explorer" at the top.

i was not aware that IE7 or 8 might even install

I though that IE6 was the only one that worked

yep, I have - but no luck. Infact now Winetricks has brought in a new issue for me. It's made itself the standard for installing any software. For example, I tried to install Xara Xtreme and downloaded the package file http://downloads.xara.com/opensource...ev1692.package
Now I can't even start the package file and when I right click on it, the first option is "open with winetricks" NOW WHAT DO I DO

I have always been of the mind that 'IF one MUST use IE 7,8,9 because of some Microsoft/IE ONLY web site or web program that uses MS ActiveX
then use a Microsoft OS !'
