Installing gtk+ in ubuntu

Hi guys,
I'm having some problems installing a program from source. I beleive it compiles ok, but I don't have the gtk frontend for it which leads me to beleive I'm missing some libraries. (The program is Transmission, a bittorrent client).
When I type ./configure I get:
System: Linux
OpenSSL: no, using built-in SHA1 implementation
GTK+: no
I will go ahead and assume I need gtk+ in order to compile the gtk frontend, only problem is that I can't seem to find it under apt-get, any ideas?

Thank you

(using xubuntu)

I'm reasonably sure that GTK would already be installed, probably just the source headers aren't. Try installing gtk2-devel (guessing the name) or search package names for 'gtk' to find it.

Thanx, you were right. Turns out I needed the headers for gtk and openssl, but I'm hit with a ton of dependency issues so I'll find another client for now.
