installing glut

hi! i'm having trouble setting up mesa and glut in my mandrake 9.1. I searched all packages containing the text 'mesa' from the rpm installer. I installed the all but i still can't compile a simple application using glut.h. The compiler says that glut.h does not exist. I'm using gcc for my compiler. I have to make a GUI for my application using mesa. But I understand that glut is the toolkit used for creating windows and is built on top of mesa, which is a free implementation of openGL. Did I get that right? The sites that I have found in the web mostly deal with 3d programming. I am only interested in the GUI. Do you know any good websites? Thanks!

Check out freeglut. I needed GLUT for flightgear, so I compiled freeglut and it worked just fine. Plus it's fully open-source (always a good sign).
