installing gDesklets

hey, i get this error when i have installed them and updated my libraires, and yet i still get the error:

Code:
configure: error: Library requirements (pygtk-2.0 >= 2.4.0 libgtop-2.0 >= 2.8.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
i also have not just the version it asks for, but a greater version, and i updated the libraries by using ldconfig. Any help would be greatly appreicated, as i have been working on this for a while. Thanks

not sure then...

i had a similar problem when i tried to install the a desklets package in ubuntu (gdesklets-data); they were just too buggy to function. I still get the problem with about half the desklets i install. My biggest suggestion would be to just shop around until you find ones that both do what you want and work. Then, you can simply edit them to get them to look like what you want them to look like... the skins are all written in simple XML, so changing them around is easy.

Otherwise, KDE has a couple nice desklet-like packages that work well if you get tired of trying to make gnome work.
