installed game... (where is it)


ok i installed a text adventure called dopewars.. it was a rpm file so i went in and did

[root@localhost Downloads]# rpm -ivh dopewars-1.5.9-1.i386.rpm


when i did this i got this....

[root@localhost Downloads]# rpm -ivh dopewars-1.5.9-1.i386.rpm
warning: dopewars-1.5.9-1.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 31da3301
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:dopewars ########################################### [100%]


so i take it that its installed but where is it? and how do i open it?

There are package managers depending on your distribution that let you install them in a graphical environment.. however you can always go to the console and type

rpm -ivh /path/to/file.rpm

You can try to find it by typing:
Code:
whereis dopewars
Or you can output a list of files that were installed and associated with the RPM by typing:
Code:
rpm -ql dopewars

Just to clear things up .. he had asked how to install rpm's first. That was what my answer was for :P

And well you can also try typing dope and then TAB.... the installed file will most likely appear.

finding modules

used whereis to find wine, and got several lines of directories,. Which one holds the executable? and how do I acess it from the desktop? Also how do I make a shortcut to it? Thanks in advance for your help.. I'm a complete newbie at this good stuff!
