Installing Flash Player 10.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 for Firefox 3.6.9
Hello,
I tried to install Flash Player 10.1 but it didn't work. I noticed that this issue is problematic. I tried many techniques to install that flash player, all of them didn't work. Among them are:

Hi,
Those links didn't work either. Each time I get a Flash player version 9.0 r999. When I try to play a video in youtube, I get a black screen and a message that tells me to update my flash player (which doesn't work either). Any ideas appreciated. P.S. Now I have Firefox 3.6.10 |
I had to use a shell script to get flash up and running properly. I believe it is here:

Very simple indeed. Go to this link. Scroll down the page and select the 64bit Linux player. Download the tarball and then unpack it. It will contain a file: libflashplayer.so. Bung that file in the ~/.mozilla/plugins folder. Restart FFx and you're good to go. :)
Oh, first you should remove any earlier versions of libflashplayer.so you installed earlier if there are any. ciao, jdk |
