installing eel
 

I'm having trouble configuring my menus, so thought it would be a good idea to try and compile and update the latest versions of eel & nautilus. My problem is that I don't know how to find out where the current versions of these modules are kept. I've tried searching for them, but no luck.

I've got the source for both modules and can compile eel, but I don't know where to compile it to.

how do I find out where a module is loaded?

distro is redhat 9
