installing downloaded software in 9.04

I went to sourceforge and downloaded software called open invoices. It is a .zip file when you extract it it extracts to a folder called open invoices dot net, how do i get this to synaptic package manager? I read about installing a .deb package but this is not a .deb package.

I think Synaptic will only work with .deb packages. Is this the software you downloaded? It looks like it's Windows software, so you'd probably have to try running it with WINE or CrossOver.

First you READ the read.me.

InstallingSoftware - Community Ubuntu Documentation - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingSoftware

Did you try searching in the Ubuntu repos for a similar package?

Is it this ? > http://sourceforge.net/projects/openinvoicesnet/files/

It hasn't been updated since 2006.
