Installing Devel packages from disks?

Anyone know how to install the devel packages from the man 9.2 disks without using the package manager, Because it DOES NOT WORK!!, (Many errors with no explanations) These dependecy issues are killing everything thats good about linux. Mandrake 9.2 was working good until i tried to install XMMS and of course i made the mistake of not installing the devel packages during install. Now trying to install them is almost impossible.

Check out "man rpm" (or better yet "man urpmi") and install from the command line.
I am guessing that you mean the GUI package manager is not working.
That was a problem I encountered with Mandrake myself. In 8.0
