Installing Debian with Fedora and XP??

I was wondering what the easiest way to go about installing Debian would be on a hard drive (hd1) that already has Fedora Core 2 installed on it.

My other hard drive (hd0) has Windows XP.

If I just pop the install disks in, can I just install to hd1 on a seperate partition? Does Debian automatically create a new partition for me?
