Hi...

Welcome to the forum

First, please read here to help you with future requests for assistance.

I'm guessing you want help to install CUPS. Actually, if you're using Ubuntu (or possibly Mint) this should already be installed and ready to go.

However, you might get better support using HPLIP. Simply click on the black button that says "Download HPLIP." Then follow the instruction listed in the section titled, "The HPLIP Automatic Installer." You can also install the "hplip-gui" package from the Ubuntu repositories that will offer a GUI for some of the settings.

This should help you get your printer up and running. Please let us know how it goes or if you have any further questions.

Regards...

You already have CUPS, or should do. Open a browser and enter the location
http://127.0.0.1:631

Actually, for setting up HP devices, it's better to use their own software, which you should also have:
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html
http://www.hplipopensource.com/hplip.../hp_setup.html

So, to install your printer
1. connect to the computer and switch on
2. enter the following command in a terminal
sudo hp-setup

if the printer was indeed connected ( like it should have been) at the time of install
hplip WOULD have been auto installed
