Question Installing cuda toolkit 9.1 with nvidia 390 driver on ubuntu 17.10

Hello all,
I have some trouble installing cuda toolkit 9.1 with r390 driver on my machine. In nvidia homepage, it says that it is required to have r390 version installed. So I had it loaded using ppa launchpad, apt-get install nvidia-390, without no problem. However when I try to install the toolkit using deb file from nvidia download page with the following steps:

`sudo dpkg -i cuda-repo-ubuntu1704-9-1-local_9.1.85-1_amd64.deb`
`sudo apt-key add /var/cuda-repo-9-1-local/`
`sudo apt-get update`
`sudo apt-get install cuda-toolkit-9-1`

it didn't installed it in /usr/local/ directory, I figured it out it should have been installed there since the post installation instruction told me to create a path that points into that directory. I wasn't sure where it got installed.

So I tried to redo all over again by trying to use "apt-get install nvidia-cuda-toolkit", but I cannot get version 9.1 out of it. Just version 8.

So what do I miss?
