Hi Folks!
At school im learning programming with Java now. I need to install this programm BlueJ for that. I think, that should be no problem, as it has an easy installer to do. The only thing I cannot manage on my own is to install a proper JDK.
As I'm using Ubuntu, i I did:
Code:
sudo apt-get install sun-java5-bin sun-java5-demo sun-java5-doc sun-java5-jdk sun-java5-jre;
Just to be sure, to have everything installed I need. The installation progress of java was no problem so far.
For the installation of BlueJ I have to give Java's directory - which I simply cannot find. When I tried a directory I get the message:
Quote:
The Java directory you have specified is not a vaild JDK directory. The JDK directory is the directory that JDK (aka Java 2 SDK) was installed to. It must have a subdirectory "lib" with a file named "tools.jar" in it.

So I used a some "search for files" tool from ubuntu to find this "tools.jar". But it doesnt come up with any result.
Is there anything I still have to install?
I'm sure you can help me.
Thanks in advance, -fault
