installing an rpm package on Debian 4.0
Hi all, I have debian 4.0 and wish to install gpsBabel mapping software. I looked on the gpsBabel website but the software is not available as a debian package, just as rpm. Is it possible to install an rpm package onto a debian system and if so how might I do this?

Many thanks for any destructions,

You can try alien to convert rpm to deb. Just two step away to do that:

apt-get install alien
alien -d file.rpm
