Installing Adobe pdf reader on F17
Hi all,
I tried to install Adobe pdf reader with yum install... command but it is showing No packages found. Please suggest how can I install it or what other pdf readers can be installed on f17 Regards Fabe |
You can download rpm file from site of Adobe
|
Just a suggestion if you want to skip adobe, evince is a very light and fast pdf reader, and it is probably in the repository of your distribution.

#su # chmod +x AdbeRdr9.5.3-1_i486linux_enu.bin # ./AdbeRdr9.5.3-1_i486linux_enu.bin Extracting files, please wait. (This may take a while depending on the configuration of your machine) This installation requires 136 MB of free disk space. Enter installation directory for Adobe Reader 9.5.3 [/opt] Now when I check /opt directory I don find any such file or folder. Please suggest what should I do. Regards |
evince or Ocular are WAY better on a linux OS
If at all possible avoid using Adobe's "reader" like the plague ( black death) to install a program in /opt you MUST do it as root . Also "evince" is already installed ( BY default ) for Gnome , and Ocular is installed ,by default, for KDE |
