Installing a modem

How do you configure a modem attached to com1 port. My modem is a U.S Robotics 56k External non PnP.

Did u tried minicom....

in most of cases it is automatically detected a startup.other wise minicom is best to configureit.

Configuring your modem (under Linux) pretty much consists of sending AT commands to it, using any of a variety of programs. You can also use "setserial" to set up your serial port.
