Installing a desktop on a server


Hello,

i have an old netbook with ubuntu 10.04 server installed on it. But now I want to install a Desktop, for example xfce. How can I do that? Please can I have a detailed description.

I'm guessing, but this might work:

Thank you. After that i have to configure somethink and how can i start the desktop (startx)?

I've never installed xfce on a server, but you might find answers here:

LXDE is another desktop environment which you can try, have a look at here.
You can checkout their website also http://lxde.org/lxde
